Marcus Debro - Chair

Assistant Principal, Bloomington High School North

As a life-long educator, Marcus Debro has a passion for helping youth thrive. He served for several years  as a board member of Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County, which joined HealthNet in 2019 and became HealthNet Bloomington Health Center. He represents the Bloomington community on the Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Keene State College and his master’s degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Keith Jewell

Keith Jewell - Vice Chair

Chief Operating Officer, OnPoint Realty, LLC; Chief Administrative Officer, Meyer Najem Construction

Keith began his career in healthcare finance more than 30 years ago and has spent more than 15 years as chief operating officer of Franciscan Health in Indianapolis and president of St. Mary’s Health in Evansville. Keith retired from healthcare in 2017 and moved back to Indianapolis. In late 2017, Keith founded OnPoint Realty, a commercial real estate development firm. He also serves as chief administrative officer for Meyer Najem Construction where he oversees finance, human resources, strategy, safety, information technology, legal and risk management. Keith serves on the board of the University of Southern Indiana Foundation and Gravity Ventures, a venture fund that invests in early-stage technology companies.

Keith had the privilege of serving on HealthNet’s board in the mid-1990s, serving two years as board President. He is married to a breast surgeon who has a master’s degree in public health. Together they are passionate about the work HealthNet does to improve the health of the communities they serve.

Fun Fact: I married rather late in life and am a first-time father to five-year old Kate who is the absolute light of my life.

Yvonne Harrington

KeyBank Corporate Responsibility Officer

Yvonne Harrington joined KeyBank in 2007 as the Corporate Responsibility Officer for State of Indiana and Michigan. In this position, she is responsible for delivering and identifying initiatives that meet the financial needs of low and moderate-income individuals in the state, while helping the bank meet their CRA goals.  In addition, she is responsible for executing the priorities in KeyBank’s Community Benefits Plan. 

 

Yvonne a broad financial service background spanning more than 40 years.  She has been a credit supervisor, mortgage processing manager and relationship manager for other financial institutions.  Prior to joining KeyBank, Yvonne was an assistant vice president for Fifth Third Bank where she served as the community development officer for the Lafayette, Terre Haute and Bloomington markets.  She was also the Development Director for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis.

 

Yvonne currently serves on the board of directors for John H. Boner Community Center and Indiana Black Expo.   Her past board affiliations include, Near North Development Corporation, Madame Walker Legacy Center, Southeast Community Center and Habitat for Humanity State Board.  She is a member of the Circle City Chapter of The Links, Inc, CRA Roundtable in Indiana and Michigan.  In addition, she serves on a variety of committees.  

 
Kim Smith

Kim Smith - Secretary

Director of Compliance, Renaissance

Kim has been working in the financial services industry for 20 years. Working first in public accounting, then later as a Director of Internal Audit and later the Chief Compliance Officer at First Internet Bank. Kim now works as the Director of Compliance at Renaissance an Indianapolis based fintech working to administer charitable giving through investment vehicles such as donor advised funds and charitable remainder trusts. As Director of Compliance she is responsible for financial industry compliance as well as enterprise risk management. Kim volunteered with the United North East Community Development board for 8 years prior to joining the HealthNet Foundation board. 

Lowery

Dr. Jonathan Lowery

Associate Professor of Physiology Assistant Provost for Research and Scholarship, Marian University

Jonathan Lowery, Ph.D., is an associate professor of physiology at the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also serves as Chief Advisor for Research Opportunity Development. He earned a B.S. in biology with minors in chemistry and biblical studies (magna cum laude) from Freed-Hardeman University and a Ph.D. in cell and developmental biology from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM). He then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in developmental biology at Harvard University. His research has resulted in the publication of more than fifty articles or abstracts, reviews, editorials and book chapters.

Dr. Lowery is a lifetime teacher, having pursued teaching positions during each stage of his training. He has held adjunct professorships at Lipscomb University and Columbia State Community College, teaching fellowships at Vanderbilt University and Harvard University, and has guest lectured at multiple institutions. Prior to joining the MU-COM faculty, he directed and lectured in the advanced graduate education course on bone/joint development and disease at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lowery presently teaches topics related to musculoskeletal physiology and molecular endocrinology.

Fun Fact: “I am a Christian, married and a new father, a dog person, and enjoy hiking, canoeing, discovering new music, exploring local craft breweries, and dancing. Once my wife and I were backup dancers in an Alan Jackson music video!”

Steve Thompson

Senior Pastor, God’s Grace Community Church
Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership

Dr. Thompson is the founder of God’s Grace Community Church in Indianapolis, IN and co-founder of God’s Grace Community Church in Cape Town, South Africa. He is passionate about teaching and coaching pastors, lay leaders, and lay ministers for ministry. He is a strong community activist with a unique ability to connect to people from all walks of life. He currently works with the Community Network of Concerned Clergy and sits on the Board of Operation Hope, Inc., a local non-for-profit that is passionate about serving the homeless, jobless, and ex-offenders by providing them with peer-to-peer training, family counseling, and individual assessments.

Fun Fact: “Under Steven L. Thompson Ministries I have published two books: Leadership Principles to Live By and Marriage is Like Mashed Potatoes.”
